Outdoor family photography

is back in popular demand. On any given weekend from September - December, I see dozens of photographers at local parks photographing families with the fall leaves as a backdrop. As a professional photographer, I know first hand how important our role is in preserving family memories through archival photographs.

The most common question I receive is “What do we Wear for a Family Portrait?”

I usually ask a client to come to the Lightscapes Portrait Studio to select a location and then coordinate their clothing to match the backdrop and their home decor. One of my favorite color combinations is the jewel tone palette. The colors are rich and blend in with the fall leaves.  A great outfit is a maroon top, jeans and boots. Scarfs can also be coordinated to match the outfits.

Our favorite outdoor locations for family portraits are Sims Lake Park in Suwanee, Vickery Creek Falls in Roswell and McDaniel Farm in Duluth.
